Mark Gunthner

Mark Gunthner — CEO & Co-Founder

Mark has over 35 years of experience in property insurance and related industries. At age 17 Mark founded an insurance restoration company to help fund his education and the MBA he earned from the University of Michigan. He then spent eight years in advertising and packaged goods marketing before launching an entrepreneurial career. During the last 30 years, Mark has founded, acquired and managed several companies in insurance restoration, construction, franchising and energy efficiency. Mark’s community service includes helping United Way develop the Long Island chapter of YouthBuild, a non-profit organization that teaches advanced construction skills to at-risk youth, and serving as Chairman of the Energy and Environment Committee for the STEM Hub at Brookhaven National Laboratories.
Thomas Escher

Thomas Escher — CEO Professional360 (Panono)

Thomas is in charge of hardware supply with the world’s highest resolution 360 camera. The Panono camera, produced by Professional360 GmbH, based in Berlin, Germany is exclusively used for the Panotech workflow. Thomas has 12 years of experience in online management, digital transformation and e-commerce. After working in strategic consulting at former Booz & Company, he joined Axel Springer, one of Germany’s largest print and digital media houses. There he created a group-wide content management platform to organize photo, text and video assets. He later held management positions with TUI travel and Mytoys, OTTO group’s third largest e-commerce business, for which he managed the French, Swiss and Austrian accounts as a general manager. Before joining Professional360 as CEO, he worked for ProSieben Sat.1 Media SE, Germany’s largest TV group as Director Business Development of the Sales House. There, he introduced and managed the innovation business of Addressable TV. Thomas earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration at WHU Koblenz, Germany, and EM Lyon, France, and joined Washington University at St. Louis for an MBA exchange program.
John Parkinson

John Parkinson — Chairman, Advisory Committee; Global Consultant

John has over 40 years of experience as a leading expert in IT, consulting, insurance and private equity. In 2003 John was named one of the world’s 25 most influential consultants by Global Consulting News, and in January 2005 he was cited as one of Computerworld’s 100 Leaders in Information Technology (IT). He has filled senior executive roles in Consumer Finance (as CTO and CISO of TransUnion LLC) and Commercial Specialty Insurance (as SVP Global Program Management Office at AXIS Capital Holdings). He also served for five years as the CTO for Capgemini in North America. Before Capgemini he was a senior partner at Ernst & Young where he worked in the UK and US for almost two decades. His first career was in the healthcare informatics industry. Most recently, John designed and rolled out a new cyber technology service for one of the world’s largest insurance companies.
Nic Walsh

Nic Walsh — Member, Advisory Committee; Retired Vice Chairman, AIG

During a career of 42 years with American International Group, Inc. (AIG), Nicholas held a variety of underwriting, distribution and senior management roles in the insurance industry. His most recent roles were vice chairman AIG Property & Casualty Inc., chairman of AIG Europe Limited and AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Ltd. Prior to this he was president and CEO of American International Underwriters. After retiring from AIG, Nic became a director for JLT Group, — one of the world’s leading providers of insurance, reinsurance and employee benefits advice, brokerage and associated services — and an advisor to the law firm of Norton Rose Fulbright.
Pete Aiena

Pete Aiena — Member, Advisory Committee; Retired Chief Claims Officer, AIG

Pete’s 40 years of experience in claims started with 17 years at Allstate followed by 23 years at AIG. Pete retired from AIG in 2016 as Chief Claims Officer for Global Consumer Insurance. Mr Aiena joined AIG in 1992 as Regional Vice President of Claims in the Far East region. As head of Claims for Japan, Pete played a key role in bringing AIG’s best in class practices to the Japanese market. He was subsequently appointed Senior Vice President of Foreign General Claims in New York in 1998, Executive Vice President in 2006, President of Chartis International Claims in 2009 (an AIG company), and in February 2011, he was appointed Chief Claims Officer for Global Consumer Insurance. Prior to joining AIG, Mr. Aiena served in several senior claims positions at Allstate including his final position there as Territorial Claim Manager in Allstate’s Capital Region.
